Our Doctors
Dr. James E. Kay
Dr. James E. Kay graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine in 1969 and has practiced in Douglas County since 1971. He served for two years in the U.S. Air Force, including one year in Vietnam.
His community leadership has included serving as vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the Kiwanis Club, and president of the American Heart Association. He was also appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue to the Consumer Advisory Board.
Dr. Kay is married and has three children. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching sports—especially the Georgia Bulldogs.
Dr. Cyd Greer
A Georgia native, Dr. Cyd Greer completed her undergraduate pre-veterinary studies at the University of Georgia and earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from its School of Veterinary Medicine in 1981.
After working at several small-animal hospitals, she joined Kay Animal Hospital in 1987. Her professional interests include internal medicine and feline medicine, and she is often known as the hospital’s “Cat Doctor.”
Dr. Greer enjoys spending time with her husband, Barry, and their son, Tyler. Her other interests include cooking and reading.
Dr. Michael Kay
A native of Douglasville, Georgia, Dr. Michael Kay joined his father’s practice in June 2007. He attended the University of Georgia, earning a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with majors in animal science and dairy science.
He subsequently studied at St. George’s University College of Veterinary Medicine and received his doctorate after completing his fourth year of clinical studies at the University of Georgia. His professional interests include orthopedic surgery, cardiology, and ultrasonography.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Kay enjoys golfing, traveling, fishing, hunting, and discovering fine foods with friends and family.
